Simplex is a freelance engine , not a model of a standard or narrow gauge engine. It was designed as an easy engine to build for a first time builder by Martin Evans. Like all Model locos there are always problems in the build. This engine was purchased by the club many years ago a part built, over a period of time it was completed by by the members and has been the club work horse on the portable track ever since.

 

Like all Simplex’s it has proved a reliable engine on all its outing over the years operating at fetes around the area running for three or four hours at a time non stop.
